General Rules and Guidelines

Nindo: Way of the Ninja takes pride in being very loose when it comes to the general rules of the site, but there are still rules none-the-less that should be followed or else. These rules are obvious things, such as powerplaying and God-moding being a no-no.

The Fire Temple

Being rebuilt after the war, the temple has flourished and thrived for hundreds of years now. This shinobi monestary has continued to be led by and house ninja monks, and the impenatrable iron walls once again stand tall. On each side of the iron wall stands a stature of Tengu and Yamabushi, the gods who bestowed the knowledge of ninjutsu onto humans, welcoming those who seek enlightenment and keeping out those who mean the monestary harm.

As one of the five great ninja villages, Iwagakure has a Kage as its leader known as the Tsuchikage. Iwagakure is well-known for the rock-hard attitude of its shinobi; as soon as the Tsuchikage gives an order, the Iwa-nin do so without hesitating, even if it means death. Iwagakure ninja seem to specialize in earth release techniques. The rocky mountain ranges that surround the village and country provide a natural stronghold. The village profits from this advantageous position and is proud of its strong defenses. The village sits among a mountain range consisting of small narrow waterfalls, with the buildings being composed of rock and stone; shaped from large, elevated formations of rock into tower-like structures. Many of its buildings sit on cliffs connected by a network of bridges. The Tsuchikage's palace seems to be the tallest structure with a cone shaped roof.

Village Hidden in the Grass

Kusagakure (草隠れの里, Kusagakure no Sato; Literally meaning "Village Hidden in the Grass") is located in a thus far unnamed country. The country is rich with forests, some consisting of giant mushrooms or bamboo. It also seems to have many rivers and deep ravines. Kusagakure is skilled in diplomacy, a trait they constantly use to read the movements of other countries and stay one step ahead of them. They also analyse techniques from other villages in a similar manner. Because of these principles others find it hard to read the shinobi from this village's attitudes.

The Land of Iron

The Land of Iron (鉄の国, Tetsu no Kuni) is an icy, snow-covered country. It is politically unusual in that it has remained neutral and never been involved in the ninja wars. In fact, the shinobi have a rule since long ago that they would not meddle with the land. Despite this, it is said to have an incredibly strong military which is manned by samurai, instead of ninja. When the Fourth Shinobi World War began, the Land of Iron joined the Shinobi Alliance and is fully prepared to participate in the war against Akatsuki's Eye of the Moon Plan. It is located among three mountains called the Three Wolves (三狼, Sanrō).

Village Hidden in the Snow

Yukigakure (雪隠れの里, Yukigakure no Sato; Literally meaning "Village Hidden in the Snow") is located in the Land of Snow. Its ninja specialize in manipulating pre-existing ice and over the years have learned to freeze water to create ice of their own. The ninja from this village had a special "chakra armour" which protected them from most attacks while amplifying the user's abilities, and making them virtually immune to Genjutsu and Ninjutsu, and their techniques arsenal typically used ice in the forms of various animals. Having previously been the Land of Spring, time and weather had eroded at the machine heating the Land, and the technology ceased to operate, returning the land to its original state.

Village Hidden by Sound

Otogakure (音隠れの里, Otogakure no Sato; Literally meaning "Village Hidden by Sound") was Orochimaru's personal village, founded for the express purpose of collecting ninja for his experiments and his quest to learn all techniques. Initially, Orochimaru claimed that he founded this village so that skilled ninja would find their purpose in life without being beholden to the fickle and warmongering priorities of the Five Great Shinobi Countries. In actuality, Otogakure was not really a village, but a group of hideouts and bases scattered throughout the Land of Sound and various other countries. Sound ninja use a diverse amount of techniques, which are mostly centred around the modifications and mutations Orochimaru gave them. After Orochimaru's death, clans that had associated with the missing-nin came together and kept the name of the Hidden Village. The leading clan within the village is the Fuma Clan.
